The Atlanta-Statesboro area is home to the second auto parts maker in recent months.
Ecoplastic Corp. will invest $205 million to build a new auto parts plant in Block County that will create 456 jobs, Gov. Brian Kemp announced Thursday. The plant will supply Hyundai’s massive electric vehicle manufacturing facility under construction near Savannah.
“With record-breaking jobs and investment on our way to Peach State, we are proud to welcome EcoPlastics to our growing ecosystem of manufacturers, logistics professionals and suppliers,” said Kemp. Great companies will find a welcoming community of hardworking Georgians and a location close to our port system.”
Founded in 1984, Ecoplastic manufactures automotive plastic parts such as bumpers, consoles, trim and plastic molds for OEMs and other suppliers.
The Korean company plans to start operations by October next year and will fill positions in human resources, finance, parts development, quality control, equipment maintenance, injection and paint production. For more information on Eco-Plastics’ work, please visit www.eco-plastic.com.

The Georgia Department of Economic Development worked with the Block County Development Authority, Georgia Port Authority, Georgia EMC, and the Georgia Tech System to land the project.
Two months ago, auto parts maker Joon Georgia announced a $317 million investment to build a new manufacturing plant in Bulloch County that will create 630 jobs. This makes it the first confirmed supplier for Hyundai’s new EV plant.
