HCMF Group and TMYTEK Showcase Autosensing Automotive Solutions at CES 2023

Equipping a smart car with a millimeter-wave radar module improves driving safety with accuracy and stability

Taipei, January 6, 2023 /PRNewswire/ — HCMF group and TMY Technology Inc. (TMYTEK) have developed the latest mmWave smart card door sensing technology that significantly improves the sensitivity, efficiency and safety of automatic door opening and closing. This Door Control Unit (DCU) solution is being showcased at CES 2023 (booth #7065), combining his 60 years of experience in the design and development of automotive components and systems from HCMF Group with TMYTEK’s innovative mmWave Combined radar module.

Unintentional opening of car doors is a common occurrence due to the inability to detect rapidly approaching objects from a distance. The millimeter-wave radar module developed by TMYTEK is characterized by frequency-modulated continuous wave (FMCW) detection and can measure a very narrow range of interest (minimum measurement range corresponds to the transmitted wavelength) and its relative velocity, thus making such Long-distance and fast-moving objects can be sensed efficiently and accurately, allowing automatic doors to react accordingly and reduce the risk of accidents. HCMF Group’s door system combines blind spot detection with electronic mirrors. When passengers exit the vehicle and open the door, electronic rearview mirrors and radar detect oncoming vehicles. It can also lock the car door if there is an object outside the car door, alerting you and posing a risk of collision.

Chang Su WeiTMYTEK, Founder and President of TMYTEK, said: The automotive sector uses applications such as road vehicle monitoring and recording, autonomous driving, traffic flow detection, and vehicle collision avoidance. We develop safety applications such as breath detection to meet the needs of different markets. ”

Another example of synergy between the two companies is the integration of TMYTEK’s antenna system technology into the polymer dispersed liquid crystal (PDLC) automotive sunroof developed by HCMF Group. Noise reduction technology while maintaining key performance and aesthetics.

“We are delighted to be working with TMYTEK and other partners to build system products. Jeffrey Sea, CTO of HCMF Group. “In the development of smart cars, Tier 1 system vendors like HCMF are integrating new technologies into familiar body and closure systems (roof, side doors, tailgate) to provide customers with a complete electromechanical solution. This allows OEMs to focus their resources on core technologies such as batteries, motors, autonomous driving, etc. HCMF Group assists OEM customers with closed systems and new technology features for vehicles. We aim to provide
