RLI Announces Realignment of Product Leadership


RLI, a specialty insurer, has announced the promotion of three product leaders following the retirement of Denise Dries, vice president of casualty brokerage.

RLI Corporation logoDrees joined RLI in 1994 as Casualty Director and held various leadership roles before being promoted to his current position in 2014. His retirement is set for February 14, 2023, after his 40-year career in the insurance industry.

Craig Kliethermes, President and CEO of RLI, said: We wish him all the best for his retirement. ”

Bob Hirche, currently vice president of excess liability, will succeed Mr. Dries in the role of vice president of property and casualty brokerage.

A 38-year industry veteran, Hartje joined RLI in 2013 and has held various property and casualty underwriting leadership positions.

Meanwhile, effective January 1, 2023, Chris Hughs, Assistant Vice President, Casualty, has been promoted to Vice President, General Liability.

Hughs joined RLI in 1997 and has held several property and casualty underwriting leadership positions during his tenure. In his new role, he will be responsible for his executive leadership of RLI’s general liability business.

Chris Gleeson, Vice President, Contract Assurance, was promoted to Vice President, Contract Assurance, effective January 1, 2023.

Gleason will assume executive leadership of RLI’s contract guarantee business. Since joining his RLI in 2003, he has held various contract guarantee underwriting leadership positions.
