Carlson has worked for Microsoft for the past eight months as a CVP and expat. She previously served as Vice President of the company from 2001 until she was 2010. Carlson also worked at Amazon Web Services, where she worked for over a decade, before joining Splunk in 2021 as President and Chief Growth Officer. She serves on the boards of Seattle startup Karat and Bay Area company Commure.
Carlson is the sales, marketing, communications and nonprofit operations of San Francisco-based logistics giant Flexport, which has reached a $8 billion valuation after raising $935 million in Series E funding last February. supervise the Founded in 2013, Flexport provides cloud-based freight forwarding and brokerage services for sea, air, truck and rail, as well as services such as insurance and customs compliance.
Carlson will report to Flexport CEO Dave Clark, a longtime Amazon executive who joined Flexport last year. She is based out of her Flexport office in Miami and splits her time between Florida and Washington, DC.
