Georgia Tech wide receiver EJ Jenkins has officially declared himself in the 2023 NFL Draft, despite being out of eligibility after this season.
Jenkins transferred to Georgia Tech after spending some time in St. Francis (PA) and South Carolina. He brought experience and leadership to his room wide with his receivers and has been consistent with his Jackets for the Yellows this season. He was a big target with his 6’7 243 LBS. It will be interesting to see how NFL teams rate Jenkins and whether a move to tight end is possible or if he stays out of receivers.

During the 2022 season, Jenkins caught 17 passes for 316 yards and 3 touchdowns. He averaged 18.6 yards per catch.
Jenkins isn’t the only Georgia Tech receiver out of eligibility and heading into the 2023 NFL Draft. Malachi his Carter also turned professional after his long career with the Yellow Jackets.
Not only did Jenkins and Carter leave, but last year’s top receivers Nate McCallum and Ryan King entered the transfer portal. Portal prioritized this position and made excellent additions. Chase Lane, who moved to Texas A&M, shared with Portal and talented high school students Bryce Dopson (Brookwood, GA), Zion Taylor (Norcross, GA) and Eric Singleton. A solid addition through Jr (Alexander, GA).
It will be interesting to see what numbers Jenkins can come up with if he wins an invitation to the NFL Combine. If he can test it well, it will help his draft stock a lot.
