Chrysler hasn’t debuted the full vehicle at CES 2023, but we’re taking a look inside. The Synthesis cockpit demonstrator could have the coolest name ever to debut at this year’s show, but it’s more than just a far-future assumption. It serves as a preview of the Chrysler EV interiors of the near future, both in design and function.
Specifically, Chrysler Synthesis uses advanced STLA technology from the automaker’s parent company, Stellantis. This includes STLA Smart Cockpit, STLA Brain, and STLA AutoDrive. The latter contains Level 3 autonomous functions in the permitted areas. Together, Chrysler is branding this cockpit as Advanced Technology for Real Life to meet the personalized needs of drivers and passengers from the moment they enter the vehicle to the moment they exit.

what does that mean exactly? A smart cockpit is essentially an infotainment system that spans most of the dashboard. It measures over 37 inches wide and has screens for driver and passenger access. That’s where Brain comes in, using advanced artificial intelligence to handle over-the-air updates in the background. It also learns the driver’s preferences over time, and his virtual personal assistant is ready to suggest everything from driving routes and charging locations to managing a busy schedule calendar. We have already mentioned AutoDrive. It is capable of hands-free, eye-free Level 3 autonomous driving.
Beyond technology, the synthetic offers a taste of future Chrysler interior design directions, with a distinct lack of chromium in the 100% sustainable materials. By that, Chrysler means recycled plastic, “responsibly sourced” wood and vegetable-tanned sheets. The overall design is inspired by the Airflow concept that arrived at CES last year, and the production version of that vehicle will be Stellantis’ first in North America to feature his STLA tech.
“For nearly 100 years, Chrysler has created creative products and technologies for mainstream customers,” said Chris Fuel, Chrysler CEO. Continuing its legacy of innovation, as the first company to launch a , represents the future of design, technology and customer experience for the Chrysler brand.”
Chrysler plans to launch its first BEV in 2025, but you can see a demonstration of the Synthesis cockpit at CES 2023 in Las Vegas, January 5-8.
