Canberra-based consultancy Synergy’s senior leadership team continues to grow internally and through recruitment, with the appointment of three new Executive Directors and a Chief Financial Officer.
Canberra-based consultancy Synergy Group has made nearly 20 year-end promotions, including David Lim, Kelly Marcoli and Sarah Louise McDonald as executive directors. Meanwhile, former Australian Maritime Safety Authority executive Satish Kumar has joined as his new CFO at Synergy Group.

self-proclaimed data geek David Lim joined Synergy Group as Senior Manager early last year following an 18-month data science contract with the Australian Government. Previously, after completing an internship at PwC, he spent nearly six years with EY’s Actuarial Services Government and Public Sector team in Canberra.
Lim specializes in statistical analysis and modeling that supports strategic transformation.
Kelly Marcoli Since mid-last year, he has been a senior member of Synergy Group’s Change and Program Management team, supporting the Treasury Department, among other federal departments, on strategy and implementation projects.
Markoulli has over 20 years of public service experience, including long-term positions in the Ministry of Health and Ministry of Finance.
Sarah Louise McDonald He has been with Synergy for the past 12 months, during which time he also served as a board member of the Australian Computer Society (ACS), the professional body for the Australian ICT industry. She brings experience from leading teams implementing her solutions for large, complex, business-centric technology for private enterprise and government clients.
In addition to senior promotions, Synergy Group has hired: Satish Kumar as the new Chief Financial Officer. Kumar joined the Australian Maritime Safety Authority after five years in his CFO role. Prior to that, he served as CFO and General Manager of Strategy and Policy at Indigenous Business Australia for nearly a decade. He also previously worked for his Macquarie Group in Sydney.

As the company continues to grow (adding nearly 150 new team members in 2022), Synergy Group kicked off with a major leadership overhaul over the past 12 months, appointing Antonia Marzulli as the new CEO. Most recently, former Accenture and IBM leader Lee Rose joined as Chief Operating Officer, and Lucille Halloran and Martin Bowles were appointed as independent directors to the company’s revamped board last month.
