MANCHESTER, Jamaica — Detectives are investigating whether they are connected to the murders of two body repair workers four hours apart in Manchester on Friday.

Police named the deceased man as 41-year-old Cleon Daley, aka “Seckey,” and 38-year-old Jewill Boxx.

A police source told OBSERVER ONLINE that investigators are trying to determine if the cases are related.

“Both (dead) men were auto body repair men, so we are following every lead and investigating. All we know is that both men were targeted. Even when[Boxx was killed]there were other people around, but they weren’t harmed,” the source said.

In the latest incident around 8:10 p.m., Daley, who also ran a bar, was at the facility when a gunman walked in and opened fire on him.

Daley was taken to hospital and pronounced dead.

Boxx was shot dead at his Old Greenvale Road home a few hours ago.

Police reported that around 4:15 p.m., while Boxx was working in the yard, a gunman got out of the car and shot him several times.

Boxx was taken to hospital and pronounced dead.

By 27 December, Manchester had recorded 55 homicides since the start of 2022, compared to 33 in the corresponding period in 2021, according to police statistics.
