Ashland, Ohio. – Michigan Tech women’s basketball lost 77-49 to No. 2 Ashland on Thursday night, ending a four-game winning streak at the Charles Kates Gymnasium.
Annie Roshak led the Eagles with 16 points while Ashland shot 50% from the floor to stay unbeaten 13-0. Kaitlyn said he had 15 points and 5 rebounds for the Meister Tech, but the Huskies fell to 10-3 overall.
The Eagles drew a separation in the second quarter, outscoring the Huskies 21–10 for 10 minutes with seven offensive rebounds in the first half. Ashland has collected 42 rebounds and forced 15 turnovers in the game, compared to his 31 at Michigan Tech.
Ashland’s relentlessly high ball pressure kept MTU in contention for shot attempts from the 3-point line, with just five successful (20%) in 25 tries.
Meanwhile, the Eagles made 10 of 24 attempts (42%) from downtown. This includes his three makes by Morgan Yoder, who finished with nine points. AU’s bench also contributed to his 34 points, and Zoe Miller’s eight rebounds helped him score 15.
Ashland took a 32-man lead early in the fourth quarter and never trailed. It was the first meeting between the two since the 2020-21 NCAA Midwest Region Tournament Semifinals, which Ashland won. The Huskies have only won three times at Ashland in the last 20 years.
Michigan Tech (10-2) will face Walsh (5-6) on Saturday. Information is scheduled for 12:30 pm.
