Stevens Point — A new Campus Executive has been named at the University of Wisconsin at Stevens Point in Marshfield.
Anthony (Tony) Andrews will become UWSP Executive at the Marshfield campus on January 9, 2023. He has spent his 27 years of post-secondary education in the areas of student development, admissions administration, community and government relations, and New York alumni relations. He also taught student development and political science.
Since 2018, he has been Associate Director of Leadership and Campus Programs at York College, City University of New York. During that time, he oversaw the construction of the Leadership, Service, and Civic Participation Center. Prior to that, he was involved in institutional promotion, student affairs, and admissions at York College.
“Dr. Tony Andrews brings 29 years of expertise in higher education and community relations to the role of Campus Executive. history made him an outstanding choice,” said Gretel Stock, dean of University College, which includes the Marshfield and Wausau campuses.
Andrews succeeds Michelle Boernke, who is retiring this month. She has held various roles at Marshfield Her Campus during her 18 years and has been Campus Her Executive since 2018.
Andrews holds a Doctor of Education degree in Executive Leadership from St. John Fisher College, Rochester, NY, a Master of Public Administration degree from Balluffe College, NY, and a BA in Political Science from York College.
Campus Executives lead campus operations and community involvement at UW-Stevens Point in Marshfield. This position provides vision, connects the needs of the community to the capabilities of the organization, and is responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations.
Andrews said he is thrilled to be joining the UW-Stevens Point team. “It will work with highly skilled higher education professionals to advance the needs of our changing student population, and with the greater communities of the City of Marshfield and Wood County, to serve an ever-evolving professional population.
