December 27 High School Sports Highlights
Students are out of school this week for the holidays, but for many high school athletes, games still need to be played. On the ice, the YARMOUTH FREEPORT GIRLS HOCKEY TEAM hosted his EDWARD LITTLE CO-OP. The score was tied until the end of the first period when Yarmouth took his 2–1 lead with a goal from Sophie Smith. And the Clippers dominate the second period. Smith scored again, extending the Clippers lead to his 3-1. And a few minutes later, SADIE CARNES breaks in for goal. It was one of seven goals during the period for Yarmouth, who won 12-2 to remain unbeaten. In Boys Basketball, CHEVERUS HOSTED HIS EDWARD LITTLE. STAGS jumps out to lead in the first quarter. SILVANO ISMAIL won the basket and he was fouled. He had 16 points. Then Giovanni San Onge (ONJ) hit a tough floater. He added his 12 points to his STAGS. ELI SAINT LAURENT gave his EDWARD LITTLE his 29th to end the game, but CHEVERUS won the close game with his 53-49. Falmouth and Mount His Ararat boys performed at the Portland Exposition. Judd Armstrong is big at Falmouth. He had a game-high 20 points and the navigators led by 10 in the first half. Mount Ararat then goes on a run. Ethan Berry is spotted on the wing trio. But Lucas Dilworth would help Falmouth to his 48-37 victory. Women’s teams also face off in Cumberland. Greeley works it out for Lauren Hester, who nails a three to give the Rangers a first quarter lead. Another of his ways for Gray is Amber Fortin driving into the whoops and the two of them taking the glass off. Sophia Ippolito then answered with her 3 for the Rangers to advance Greeley for a 58-48 victory. GREY NEW GLOUCESTER hosted by GREELY BOYS. AIDAN HEBERT split the layup defender and GRAY put up his 11 in the 3rd quarter. And the Patriots were pulled away from there. Nate Hebert made five-three and finished with a 25-point game as Gray New Gloucester pulled off a 57-36 victory. In high school basketball, the Marshwood Girls hosted Westbrook. Savannah Nashwinter led the baseline, with Marshwood leading her eleven in the second half. Westbrook frames Larry. Taylor Hodge into the hoop and Reed was down four quarters. But the hawk will pull away from it.shelf
