Legends Event Center celebrates its grand opening with Brian, Texas upon Saturday, December 10th.
Brian, Texas, December 13, 2022 /PRNewswire/ — The event kicked off with a formal welcome from Bryan Deputy City Manager. Hugh Walkerand other individuals integral to the project, including former Mayor Bryan Andrew Nelsoncurrent Mayor Bryan Bobby Gutierrezand CEO of a sports facility company Jason ClementFollowing the opening ceremony, a ribbon cutting ceremony was held.
Bryan’s residents stepped in for the first time to witness the state-of-the-art venue in all its glory and enjoy inflatable bounce houses, face painting, balloon animals, free arcade play and catered meals. Attendees were also able to watch several sports performances put on by Houston Skyline BCS Volleyball. Lone Star Lady Hoopthe Brazos Valley Pickleball Association, and an esports competition featuring two local high schools, Brian High School and Ladder High School.
The Legends Event Center features 16 volleyball courts, 8 basketball courts, an esports lounge, gaming arena, lawn areas, and large conference rooms. The venue will help stimulate Bryan’s economic development and increase tourism by attracting local, regional and national programs including major tournaments, competitions and other special events.
Destination Bryan’s executive director, John Friebele, believes the number of travelers will pay for the venue.
“There are teams, there are participants, there are spectators, there are coaches,” Freebel said. “They all come and fill up hotels and restaurants so that they can use that money within their communities to further the economic impact of tourism.”
