Highlights of NFL Week 14: The Patriots beat the Cardinals.Kyler Murray injured


14th week NFL The season ended with Mack Jones and the New England Patriots defeating the Arizona Cardinals 27-13 on Monday Night Football.

The win improved Jones and the Patriots to a 7-6 season. The Cardinals lost his 4-9 record, and in the process also lost his star quarterback Cuyler his Murray. His QB in the Pro Bowl was sidelined on the first drive of the game with an apparent knee injury.

The Cardinals’ opening drive ended with a missed field goal, and Murray was carried off the field with a towel over his head after being injured on just the third play from scrimmage. He did not return for the remainder of the game.

After Murray’s ejection, backup quarterback Colt McCoy checked into the game.

Jones was picked off on the first quarter drive in New England’s second and final by Cardinals linebacker Isiah Simmons. The turnover created a field goal for Arizona and a 3–0 lead.

To make matters worse, Patriots receiver Devante Parker, running back Ramondre Stevenson and cornerback Jack Jones were all injured in the first quarter.

Parker spent some time in the blue medical tent before heading to the locker room, with Stevenson jogging off the field under his own power and Jones moving his knees along the sidelines.

With Stevenson’s return in jeopardy and Damien Harris already out of action on Sunday, fourth-string running back Kevin Harris made a big splash with the first 14-yard touchdown of his NFL career. , gave the Patriots a 7-3 lead.

The Patriots tied things up with a 1-piece 13 points with a field goal on the first drive of the second half. New England’s RB Pierre Strong Jr. made a big gain to set the tone early in the third quarter.

McCoy hooked up with Hopkins in what appeared to be a healthy gain, but the Patriots defense had other plans.

After the ball came loose, Raekwon McMillan scooped it up and returned it 23 yards home, giving New England a 20–13 lead late in the third quarter.

The Cardinals quickly got the ball back and wasted no time getting into downfield…

…but Arizona’s drive was cut short when McCoy was hit while shooting the ball and was picked off.

Things got wild on the next drive. On the opening play, Jones’ pass to Nelson Agholor appeared to be intercepted by the Cardinals defense, but after an official review the play was reversed and deemed an incomplete pass.

New England then extended their lead to 27–13 with a 3-yard rushing touchdown from Strong.

Both teams were three-and-out on their next drives, but the Cardinals turned it over on downs late in the fourth quarter after a 10-play long drive fell short.

Arizona came to an end with a tough double-digit loss at home.
