No. 18 Michigan Tech moves to Lake Superior for the CCHA series at Sioux. The Huskies are just one point behind first place in the conference standings, with him third. Technology is 10-4-3 overall and 6-3-3 for CCHA. LSSU is 2-12-2 and 1-8-1 in league play.
women’s basketball
The technique improved to 9-2 overall, beating Lake Superior State 76-63 on Friday and No. 19 Ferris State 67-52 on Sunday at SDC Gym. Isabella Lenz and Sarah Dax led the Huskies, averaging 17 points per game over the weekend. The Huskies will host Finlandia on Saturday evening at 6pm at the SDC Gym.
men’s basketball
The Huskies split the first GLIAC home weekend, losing 73-63 to Lake Superior State on Friday and beating Ferris State 69-68 on Sunday. Dan Gelezger (11.5) and Pete Calcaterra (11) averaged double digits and led a balanced offense. The Huskies will wrap up his 2022 schedule on Dec. 19 in Wesleyan, Kentucky.
nordic skiing
The Nordic ski season kicked off with a combined CCSA team win at the Salomon CXC Cup in Duluth. Anabel Needham won Saturday’s freestyle his sprint, while Henriette Semb and Skyler Patten finished top of the podium at Sunday’s classic interval start. Tech will host the Pre-Nationals CCSA Invite/CXC Cup on Tech Trails on Saturday and Sunday. Freestyle sprints on Saturday at 10am and Classic sprints on Sunday at 9am.
