
Contributed Content — With the help of generous donations from the community, Steven Wade Auto Center is supporting four organizations this holiday season dedicated to making a difference in the lives of homeless and at-risk youth in southern Utah.

In the spirit of Christmas, Stephen Wade Auto Center has set a goal to donate a total of $50,000 to Switchpoint, Youth Futures, Washington County School District and the Washington County Children’s Justice Center. If you purchase a vehicle at your local Stephen Wade dealer during December, a portion of your purchase will help further the efforts of these organizations.
“Our children are the future of our community,” said marketing director Herb Anderson. “When you buy from Stephen Wade, you are giving back to children in need here in St. George.”
The impact of recent economic challenges on local families is undeniable. Nearly 600 Washington County students are currently homeless, and thousands more live below the poverty line. Stephen Wade Auto Center is committed to supporting community organizations that provide help and hope in difficult times.
“We want to be partners in the community,” said Jamie Berleman, director of public relations. “Our focus is improving the quality of life for everyone in Southern Utah.”

The organization provides referrals for affordable housing and other services, and operates emergency shelters, pantries, soup kitchens and 24/7 child care facilities in St. George.
Acting as a refuge in times of crisis, youth future Provide shelter, guidance and resources for at-risk youth aged 12-18. Drop-in services give your child daily access to food, clothing, hygiene, laundry facilities, computer stations and case management.

of Washington County School District Foundation It funds numerous initiatives to improve the quality of education for students in the region. The Counselors’ Closet program, available in all schools, allows at-risk youth to collect items that may be missing in their homes and provide these resources to counselors for distribution as needed. After experiencing abuse or other crimes, the Washington County Child Justice Center provides a warm and welcoming place where children and families can begin their healing journey. A multidisciplinary team provides interviews, victim advocacy, medical, and trauma-focused mental health care.
Stephen Wade Auto Center is raising essential supplies for at-risk children and families through its fifth annual Wish Tree fundraiser. Switchpoint, Youth Futures, Washington County School District Foundation, and Washington County Children’s Justice Center all rely on community donations to keep their shelves stocked. Sleeping bags, jackets, gloves, socks, snacks, cleaning products, hygiene products, gift cards and more.
Inside every Stephen Wade dealership on Auto Mall Drive, there is a tagged wish tree containing the specific items each organization needs. Select a tag from the tree, buy an item, and drop it into one of his donation boxes. Donations will be accepted until December 20th.
