Panthers’ Jaycee Horn on Football Inspiration, New Leadership Role – WSOC TV

Charlotte — You don’t want to hear your cornerback’s name during a football broadcast. That usually means they’re beaten in coverage.

But Panthers Jaycee Horn played so well in his second year that we can’t help but talk about him.

The cornerback has 24 solo tackles and two interceptions in 2022.

Horn sat down with Channel 9 to discuss what inspired him to step out of his comfort zone.

“I think of the Mamba mentality, just attacking everything with extreme concentration,” Horn said of his mentality. “Even when I was younger, LeBron was showing up. All my friends were LeBron fans, so I found myself defending Kobe all the time.”

Horn found more of a leadership role throughout the season after defensive leader Donte Jackson went down with a season-ending injury.

Horn said it strives to be a voice leader and continues to improve in that area.

>> In the video at the top of the page, Channel 9’s DaShawn Brown sits down with Horn for a candid conversation about his inspiration and new leadership role.
