With the college football coaching carousel continuing to spin, with the first transfer portal window officially open and early contract terms on the horizon, athletic directors across the country are readying their respective programs for the offseason. I’m trying to put it in the best possible position.
Colorado made headlines last weekend with the hiring of former Jackson State head coach Deion Sanders. Wisconsin, Nebraska, and Auburn also created large-scale hiring.

Ken Niumataroro Navy
The Navy unveiled the Niumatalolo a day after a 20-17 overtime loss to rival Army. He will not return as the team’s head coach next season. In his 16 seasons in the Navy he went 109-83, but only this season he went 4-8.

Previous role: Sacramento State Head Coach, 2019-22
Stanford University announced the hiring of former Sacramento State head coach Troy Taylor on Saturday after the team lost to Incarnate Word in the quarterfinals of the FCS playoffs on Friday night. Taylor, 54, spent his three seasons at Sacramento State University in his 22 years from 2019 to 30-8, winning Big Sky his Coach of the Year award twice (2019). , 2021). Jason Garrett does not track Stanford work

ESPN reported Thursday that Garrett, who head coached part of the NFL’s Dallas Cowboys in 10 seasons (1985-67), is a finalist for the Cardinal head coaching job. Sacramento State coach Troy Taylor was also reportedly in the mix to replace David Shaw, who resigned on Nov. 27 after 12 seasons as head coach at Stanford.
Garrett is currently a television analyst covering the NFL, Notre Dame and USFL. A former quarterback, he played in 25 NFL games over the course of his eight seasons, seven of which he was with the Cowboys and nine of which he was a starting lineup. Garrett later posted a message that he would continue his role as a broadcaster.
Jeff Broom Louisville
Previous role: Purdue Head Coach, 2017-22
Brohm, who was Louisville’s quarterback from 1989 to 1993, returned home to coach the Cardinals after Scott Satterfield abruptly left to take the head coaching job in Cincinnati. This is his third head coaching job, having previously played in Western Kentucky and Purdue. He has his 66-44 career record, including his 36-24 mark at Purdue, which includes his multiple bowls in the past season. The game and the Big Ten included his West titles.

Previous role: Ohio Attack Coordinator, 2017-22
Wilson will get his second chance to become a college head coach after leading Indiana from 2011 to 2016 with a 26-47 record, including a 12-37 in the Big Ten. He contributed to coaching Ohio State’s Ohio offense and was a highly regarded coach of Ohio State’s Ohio offense.
Scott Satterfield Cincinnati
Previously: Louisville head coach, 2019-22
Satterfield has had many ups and downs in his four seasons in Louisville. His best year was his 2019, which ended 8-5, including the Cardinals’ win over Mississippi State in the Music City Bowl. He enjoyed great success during his time at Appalachian State University, going 51-24 in six of his seasons. This includes his three wins in the Sunbelt in his conference and his perfect record of 3-0 in his bowl games.

Hugh Freeze auburn
Previous role: freedom head coach, 2019-22
Freeze arrives at Auburn with a wealth of head coaching experience, having played for Ole Miss from 2012-2016. The former Rebels head coach has resigned over his mistakes amid both a personal scandal and an NCAA scandal. Officially he is 76-47 in his 13 seasons as head coach of Liberty, Lambuth, Arkansas.
Luke Fickel Wisconsin
Previously: Cincinnati head coach, 2017-22
Fickel took over the Wisconsin program after six seasons as Cincinnati’s head coach, going 57-18 and helping the Bearcats to the college football playoffs last season. In addition to the CFP spot, Fickel’s head coaching resume includes three 11-plus winning seasons for him, two AAC titles for him, and his 2-2 record in bowl games. I’m here.
