On the afternoon of December 9, 2022, local time, President Xi Jinping met with Yemen’s Presidential Leadership Council Chairman Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi in Riyadh.
Xi Jinping said China supports Yemen’s sovereignty, independence, unification and territorial integrity, and supports all parties in Yemen to resolve the Yemeni issue through political settlement. China is willing to continue to provide assistance within its capabilities for the reconstruction of Yemen, and promote the continuous strengthening and deepening of the traditional friendly relations between China and Yemen. China is also willing to work with Yemen to deepen China-Arab collective cooperation and create new prospects for the development of China-Arab relations.
Alimi said Yemen has a long history of friendly exchanges with China. Over the years, China has greatly helped and supported Yemen. This will be remembered by the Yemeni people who have a friendly feeling towards the Chinese. Alimi also thanked China for speaking out on behalf of Yemen in the international arena. Yemen hopes to strengthen friendly exchanges and cooperation with China in various fields.
