A duo of classic holiday cartoons hits the stage in downtown New Orleans over the next few days in a professional live production with a Christmas vibe.
Transformed into live musicals, “How Dr. Seuss’s The Grinch Stole Christmas” and “A Charlie Brown’s Christmas” bring audiences into the festive mood at the Saenger Theater and Orpheum Theatre, respectively.

Inspired by the original book, The Grinch features magical and hilarious costumes and sets. Shows are December 13-17 at 7:30pm, December 17 at 11am and 3pm, December 18 at 1pm (ASL performance) and 5pm, December 19-17 Doors open at 2pm on the 20th.
The music plays with classics like “You’re A Mean One, Mr. Grinch” and “Welcome Christmas,” plus additional tunes to keep the Whos singing and dancing.
In this production, Max, the Grinch’s obstinate puppy, takes on the role of narrator, and the audience wonders whether the green goblin really “prevents Christmas from coming” or whether his heart is a normal (or larger) size. Will he carve a roast beast?
Tickets start at $30. The Saenger Theater is located at 1111 Canal Street in New Orleans. Visit Broadwayinneworleans.com.
