‘This man is the Harry Maguire of the business world’: Strange moment Ghanaian politician repeatedly mocks Manchester United and England defenders, criticizes political rivals’ budget failures

Bizarre footage has circulated from the Ghanaian parliament showing a politician referring to Harry Maguire and discrediting his political rival’s economic policies.
Isaac Adango rose to his feet and launched his counter-argument, beginning by praising the national team for their victory over South Korea earlier in the week, before delivering an extraordinary rant using Maguire as the main point of reference.
Addressing Ghana’s parliament, Adango said Ghana’s Vice President Mahmud Baumia enjoys political own goals in much the same way as Manchester United and England defenders.

Adango argued that when Mahamudu Baumia was given the chance to run the country’s defense (no, the economy), he became their own Harry Maguire

Maguire has performed well for England in Qatar despite a lackluster season in which he lost his place at the club.
An extraordinary attack comes after a torrid season for the defender, who has been frozen out of Manchester United after a difficult start to the season under manager Eric Ten Hag.
However, he has maintained the support of England coach Gareth Southgate, who selected him for the World Cup squad.
Still, Adango used the opportunity to ridicule Maguire to criticize Baumia’s policies, claiming his rivals “work on their players and give them assists” like centre-backs.
“If you’re a fan of football, it’s nice to see you rejoicing when Ghana won the other day. But there’s a player like you, Maguire, who plays for Manchester United in England.

“Harry Maguire. He’s a defender. He was tackling and throwing bodies everywhere like he was the best defender in the world.
“Manchester United bought him. He became the biggest threat in the heart of Manchester United’s defense, tackling his own players and giving assists to his opponents.
“Even if the opponents couldn’t score, Maguire scored for them.”
He continued:

He said “economic tycoons” are taking the foundations of the country’s economy and destroying it all
“There is an economic Maguire in this country. Maguire, from the same economic world, was lecturing at the university on how to restore the value of cities.
“Speaker of the House, why did you give this Maguire a chance to be the center of the defense? He became an own-goal risk.
More existentially, he then doubled down on his lines of attack, saying that Ghana’s own “economic Maguire” was destroying the country’s fragile economy.
“Our economy Maguire is taking control of our economic fundamentals and destroying them all,” he said.
The reason politicians held their debates in English is because there are so many sublanguages and dialects in the country, and each region has its own native language.
