Signature Entertainment Acquires (Exclusive) Rights to Festival’s Popular Paranormal Horror ‘The Harbinger’ in UK and Ireland


Signature Entertainment has acquired the UK and Irish rights to paranormal horror “The Harbinger” from MPI.

The film was produced by Jay Dunn (Witch in the Window), Richard W. King (We Go On) and Andy Mitton (Yellow Brick Road), with Mitton directing. I am also in charge of the screenplay. Starring Gabby Beans (“House of Cards”), Emily Davies (“Plagiarist”) and Raymond Anthony Thomas (“Shutter Island”).

Set in New York, the film follows Monique (Beans) reluctantly leaving quarantine during a pandemic to care for her friend Mavis (Davis) who is plagued by terrifying nightmares. Monique soon learns that the dream is contagious and stems from a demonic reality-bending force, the Harbinger. I have to find a way.

The film was selected at Canada’s Fantasia International Film Festival, UK’s Flightfest and Sitges International Fantastic Film Festival. It won the Best Horror Award at the Grimfest International Fantastic Film Festival in England.

The transaction was negotiated between Katie Wilkinson, Director of Acquisitions and Development at Signature, and Nicola Goelzhaeuuser, Vice President of Sales and Acquisitions at MPI. Digital HD’s release is set for January 23, 2023. XYZ Films released the film in the US in September.
