100 years ago: 1922
Dixfield’s Star Circle has been postponed for a week and will meet with Mrs. Flora Sweat Judkins on Thursday evening, December 14th. All members are expected to earn her 50 cents and report back on how they are earned at this meeting.
50 years ago: 1972
Former ELHS ski coach Richard “Dick” Osgood (now on staff at Lost Valley) will be the speaker at the Auburn Lewiston Kiwanis Club’s December 6 luncheon at Auburn’s Roundhouse Motor Inn. The theme is “ski safety”.
25 years ago: 1997
Daycare Connection is held at Auburn Middle School on Wednesdays from 7:00 to 8:30 pm. Local storyteller Dorothy Getchell shares her storytelling techniques with her childcare provider as Mrs. Santa Claus. She tells the group some modern Christmas stories.
Childcare providers are invited to bring their children and enjoy the stories. A photo of her with Mrs. Claus and the holiday celebrations ensue.
Day Care Connection is a training and support group for child care providers.
Materials used in retrospectives are produced as originally shown, although spelling errors and errors may be corrected.
