Ivy Tech Bloomington Dean Jenny Vaughan Announces Retirement
Bloomington – After nine years of dedicated leadership as Chancellor and more than 25 years at Ivy Tech Community College Bloomington, Jenny Vaughan will step down as Chancellor on May 15, 2023. It worked, was awarded record qualifications, built unique partnerships, and added new programs to serve the needs of the South Central Indiana workforce. “It has been my life’s work in higher education to provide opportunities for students to achieve their career goals and improve their lives. It’s a highlight of the 2019 season,” said Vaughn. “Together with community and business leaders, trustees, legislators and faculty, we have built a strong path for Ivy Tech alumni. and I am confident the team will continue this impactful work.”
Under Vaughan’s leadership, the campus has increased access to quality education beyond Bloomington’s city limits, with the Stonegate Arts & Education Center in Bedford, the Brown County Career Resource Center, the North Lawrence Career Center and Ivy Tech Mooresville. offered a career certification course in Above all. Under Vaughan’s leadership, the campus secured significant financial support through the Ivy Tech Foundation in two capital campaigns totaling $14.8 million. Fundraising addressed critical needs including student tuition and emergency funding, program growth, and expansion and renovation of Maine Her campus. Students were awarded her 2,179 scholarships totaling over $1.1 million.

About Jenny Vaughan
Prior to his appointment as President on May 1, 2014, Vaughn held various positions, including Vice President for Students, Executive Director for Administration, and Executive Director for Human Resources. With over 40 years of experience in higher education, she started her career as a registrar and her director of operations at the University of San Francisco. Vaughan is an American graduate with a Master of Public Administration from the Military College, completed postgraduate studies for a Master of Science in Education from the University of San Francisco, and a BA in Organizational Behavior from the University of San Francisco.
