“Closed for business”; Kentucky woman arrested for drug trafficking


OHIO COUNTY, Kentucky (WEHT) – The Ohio County Sheriff’s Office and Pennyrill Counter-Drug Office announced on social media that a woman was arrested in the 400 block of West Second Street on Wednesday.

The post read, “The Ohio County Sheriff’s Office and the Pennyril Drug Control Center are letting customers of Apartment No. 7 at 405 West 2nd Street know that they are currently closed.” .

Serena Hamilton, 51, of Beaver Dam was reportedly arrested on drug trafficking charges while serving a search warrant for her apartment. was

Officials say the arrest was the result of an investigation into which an undercover agent bought methamphetamine from Hamilton from his apartment.

Hamilton is being held at the Ohio County Jail on the following charges:

  • trafficking in methamphetamine
  • (1st Degree) Possession of Controlled Substance, (2nd Violation) Methamphetamine
  • possession of marijuana
  • Purchase/possession of drug paraphernalia
