Scott Painter, founder of CarsDirect, TrueCar, Fair and Autonomy, will be the keynote speaker at the 2023 International Car Rental Show (ICRS) April 16-18 in Paris-Las Vegas.
In a keynote titled “From Ownership to Usership – How Rental Cars Can Flourish in the New Mobility Environment,” Painter said: auto rental news and the conference chair chat at the fireside and answer audience questions.

Painter founded CarsDirect (now Internet Brands). CarsDirect (now Internet Brands) was the first company to offer prepaid car pricing and car buying services over the Internet. TrueCar, his NASDAQ-traded car buying website for new and used car buyers and dealers, brought transparency to auto retail. His latest startup, his Autonomy, is an EV-only subscription service on a mission to make EV access easier and more affordable.
Painter is a member of the World Economic Forum and spoke at the Davos conference. He was also a founding member of Richard Branson’s Carbon War Room and an early advisor to Tesla. He has won numerous Technology and Entrepreneur of the Year awards, and he launched TrueCar Racing, an all-female racing team sponsored by Penske Media Corporation and Virgin Group.
