East Liverpool – Peyton Vargamore and Trenton Davis have been selected to represent East Liverpool High School at the Rotary Youth Leadership Conference in February 2023.
Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA) are intensive leadership experiences hosted by Rotary clubs and districts that allow students to develop leadership skills while having fun and making connections.
District 6650’s 27th convention, the 2023 Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA) convention, builds on a program initiated by Rotary International. This program identifies young people who have demonstrated leadership skills or demonstrated potential to become leaders and gives them the opportunity to explore and develop those skills alongside others of similar ability.
During the meeting, participants explore their own styles and strengths. Learn skills that enable you to recognize and address the needs of your community. Interact with adult role models in their profession and community. Develop and learn leadership skills. Cultivate a sense of gratitude for community service.
The conference topics are:
– Communication: Learn to share opinions in a constructive way and develop understanding.
– Behavioral Styles: Understand your own behavioral style, the value of different behavioral styles, and the impact of different behaviors on your group.
– Rotary: The Four-Way Test, Learn and Understand Rotary Concepts “Service Above Self” Purpose and Activities of Rotary International.
– Society: Examine the role of values in modern society and understand the pillars of character (respect, responsibility, caring, citizenship, trustworthiness, fairness)
