Hockenson traded in division

Rival teams rarely make substitutions during the season. But that was the case on Tuesday, as the Detroit Lions sent former Pro Bowl tight end TJ Hockenson to the Minnesota Vikings.

Hockenson, the eighth overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft out of Iowa, has 26 receptions for 395 yards and three points this season. In his first three seasons with Detroit, he averaged 53.3 catches, 557.7 receiving yards and four touchdowns per season.

chicago bears make a splash

The Bears have acquired third-year wide receiver Chase Claypool from the Pittsburgh Steelers, ESPN reported. Chicago is sending a 2023 second-round pick to Pittsburgh, not the Ravens’ acquisition of Roquan Smith. NFL Network reported.

Claypool totaled 32 receptions for 311 receiving yards and one receiving touchdown in eight games for the Steelers this season.

The Steelers make another move

This time, it’s something to add to their roster. Pittsburgh is acquiring defensive back William Jackson III from the Washington Commanders, NFL Network reports.

Jackson has a total of 16 tackles, one tackle-for-loss and two passes defended over four games.
