All eyes on the entire MLB universe will be locked, game 3 Tuesday night World Series (8:03 p.m. FOX and the FOX Sports App)there are plenty of standouts who haven’t played on baseball’s biggest stage who deserve some brilliance.
The top defensive players across the diamond were honored on Tuesday as the 2022 Rawlings Gold Glove Award winners were announced.
Here is the full list of 2022 Gold Glove winners:
national league
catcher: JT Real Mute, Phillies
Number of Awards: This is Realmuto’s second Gold Glove of 2019.
Key stats: He led all eligible MLB catchers with a 44% stolen base percentage.

First base: Christian Walker, diamondbacks
Number of Awards: This is Walker’s first gold glove.
Key stats: Walker led all MLB first basemen with an above-average 17 DRS (defensive runs saved) and 14 outs.
Second base: Brendan Rogers, rocky mountains
Number of Awards: This is Rogers’ first gold glove.
Key stats: Rodgers had 22 base hits in the DRS, leading all second basemen in the MLB.
shortstop: Dansby Swanson, braves
Number of Awards: This is Swanson’s first gold glove.
Key stats: Swanson led all NL players with 19 outs up from his 2021 total and 21 more outs than average.
Third base: Nolan Arenado, cardinals
Number of Awards: This is Arenado’s 10th Gold Glove Award.
Key stats: This is Arenado’s 10th Gold Glove in 10 seasons, tying Ichiro for the most consecutive Gold Gloves to start an MLB career.
left: Ian Happ, cubs
Number of Awards: Happ’s first gold glove.
Key stats: Happ’s 8.3 UZR (Ultimate Zone Rating) was the highest of any left fielder in MLB.
Center field: Trent Grisham, Padres
Number of Awards: This is Grisham’s second career Gold Glove (2020).
Key stats: Grisham recorded an above-average 17 outs in the regular season, tying for the top spot in the MLB.
Right field: Mookie Betts, dodgers
Number of Awards: This is Betts’ sixth career gold glove (2016-20).
Key stats: Betts led all MLB right fielders with 15 DRS, which measures a player’s range and ability to convert batted balls into outs.
pitcher: Max Freed, braves
Number of Awards: This is Freed’s third Gold Glove (2020-21).
Key stats: In 185 1/3 innings pitched during the regular season, Freed had 42 fielding chances and only one error.

catcher: Jose Trevino, Yankees
Number of Awards: This is the first Gold Glove of Trevino’s career.
Key stats: Trevino led all major league catchers with 21 defensive run saves.
First base: Vladimir Guerrero Jr., blue jays
Number of Awards: This is the first gold glove of Guerrero Jr.’s career.
Key stats: Guerrero had 3 DRS at first base and also became the first player in Blue Jays franchise history to win the award at first base.
Second base: Andres Jimenez, Guardian
Number of Awards: This is the first Gold Glove of Jimenez’s career.
Key stats: Jimenez led all second basemen in the AL with 16 DRS and also recorded an above-average 12 outs, according to Statcast.
shortstop: Jeremy Peña, Astros
Number of Awards: This is Peña’s first career Gold Glove award.
Key stats: Peña finished in a tie with 15, the most DRS of any MLB shortstop. He is the first rookie shortstop to win a Gold Glove.
Third base: Ramon Urias, Orioles
Number of Awards: This is the first Gold Glove of Urias’ career.
Key stats: Urias led all third basemen in the AL with 14 DRS in 2022.
left: Stephen Kwan, Guardian
Number of Awards: This is Kwan’s first career gold glove.
Key stats: Kwan led all left fielders in MLB with an above-average 21 DRS and 10 outs.
Center field: Miles Straw, Guardian
Number of Awards: This is the first gold glove of Straw’s career.
Key stats: Straw led all MLB center fielders with an 8.0 ultimate zone rating. He also led his AL center field with his above-average 13 outs.
Right field: Kyle Tucker, Astros
Number of Awards: This is Tucker’s first career Gold Glove Award.
Key stats: Tucker led the AL right field with 13 DRS.
