St. Mary’s — St. Mary’s is now home to a new and unique business in River’s Edge Antiques and Collectibles, expanding the town’s relationship with tourism.

The facility has everything to offer the public, including a market specializing in antiques and collectibles, and a comedy club with acts already booked for January. The history and charm of the town.

Brenda and Tim Henry have purchased the historic Barron mansion for their permanent residence. “The renovation of the house is almost finished.”

Henry also said: “On the ground floor of the building, we have a customized 1950s-style ice cream and soda store that reflects the nostalgia of that era and offers our customers delicious treats.”

The couple touched on childhood, “Tim and I had a mother who collected antiques.” Brenda said, “That led to the idea that we would open our own business around antiques and collectibles, and after careful consideration, that idea ultimately led us to open here. We used to live in Columbus, but I eventually retired as a nurse and Tim is a retired business owner.”

Brenda also shared how welcoming St. Mary’s community has been to her and her husband. “The entire community, including St. Mary’s City Council, St. Mary’s Chamber of Commerce, and many other local businesses and shops, have been very supportive of our shop and ideas.”

One such idea was to conduct a bus tour of the city of St. Mary’s.

“We went to a trade fair in Cleveland where Tim gave a presentation about bus tours in St. Described as a very neat and historic place, on the river where you can see the stern wheels and barges, he really blew the socks off the audience.” Brenda said.

The shop also offers experiences during holidays and special events. During the Christmas season, events include horse-drawn carriage rides, caroling and cookie-swapping.

“I want to bring back the old charm to the St. Mary’s area.” Brenda said.

“This is a great opportunity for us to do something we really enjoy.”

The grand opening of Rivers Edge Antiques and Collectibles took place on October 8th.
