If you stopped by the Lasco Ford in Fenton or Lasco Mitsubishi in Grand Blanc and Waterford yesterday, things might have seemed a little more casual. Dressing down was to support a good cause: A Lasco Auto Group employee dressed in comfortable, loose-fitting style after donating his $25 to Make-A-Wish Michigan. I was privileged to dress casually that day.
As part of the ongoing Lasco Gives initiative, this month we have selected a Michigan charity that “creates life-changing wishes for seriously ill children.” The Dealership Group donates funds for every car sale and every oil change he makes at three of his stores during the month of October.
About Make-A-Wish Michigan
Michigan’s wishes are realized through corporate sponsorships, special events, foundation grants, and individual donations. However, we do not accept donations over the phone. As a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization, all donations are deductible to the extent permitted by law. Our financial statements are audited by CliftonLarsonAllen LLP.
At Make-A-Wish, we take our responsibility for money donated to our cause very seriously. Over the past five years, Make-A-Wish Michigan spent, on average, 76.6% of every dollar spent on wish fulfillment and related program costs, 6.5% of every dollar spent on administrative and general expenses, and 16.9 % allocated to funding.
