Betty Jane Yesney

Betty Jane Yesney returned home surrounded by her family at the Rouse Home in Youngsville, Pennsylvania on October 6, 2022. She was born on June 22, 1929, in South Herbuffalo to Henry and Christine Wall.

She is a graduate of Buffalo State University and has been a teacher in the Kenmore School District for over 20 years, teaching first grade at Jane Adams Elementary School and fourth grade at Hoover Elementary School. She spent most of her adult life with her husband and family at her 344 Louvaine Dr. in Kenmore.

Betty was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who loved teaching, reading, singing, and growing flowers, roses, and vegetables. She loved taking walks around her neighborhood and visiting her neighbors. She attended her Lutheran church in Pilgrim until she moved in with her daughter in 2016. She attended the Gloria Day Lutheran Church with her family.

Betty is survived by her parents, husband of 45 years, Andrew Yesney, who died in 1997, and son Andrew Guy Yesney, who died in 1986.

She is survived by her son Dean (Kathy) Yesney (East Amherst) and daughter Karen (John) Finson (Lakewood, NY). Christie (David) Martin of Fredonia, Molly Woodfield of Jamestown, Laurel Finson of Buffalo, and Hannah (Harrison) Granger of Buffalo, New York are also survivors.

Family and friends were welcomed Saturday at the C. Mertz & Son Funeral Home 911 Englewood Ave, Buffalo, NY 14223. His funeral will be held on Monday, October 10, at 11:00 am at the C. Mertz & Son Funeral Home. Donations can be made to the Pilgrim His Lutheran Church at 44 Chapel Street, Kenmore.
