What makes London the best place to get an MBA degree? London is a vibrant business hub with endless opportunities for work, study and leisure. As someone considering a career change, having a wide variety of industries in front of you is invaluable. I also like the greenery of the city. Get caught up in the hustle and bustle of city life, and a 10-minute walk will take you to one of the city’s many beautiful parks.
London Business School is one of the most culturally and professionally diverse MBA programs in the world. How will these global perspectives add value to business education in the next two years? London is already a cosmopolitan city and LBS clearly embraces the spirit of welcoming diverse people from all walks of life to foster better communities. Without this diversity, LBS would not be the school it is today. Also, I believe that my research and career should be at the forefront.
Apart from classmates and places, What were the key parts of the London Business School MBA program that led you to choose this business school? Why was it important? Me I was drawn to the flexible nature of the course. Having the option to finish in 15, 18 or 21 months means you can tailor your MBA to best fit your personal journey. This means you can participate in term-time internships, global experiences and bespoke courses without worrying about how your time at LBS will be affected.
What courses, clubs and activities in London Business School are most intriguing? ‘Global Experiences’ provides an opportunity for direct immersion into different business cultures. This is definitely unique to LBS and I’m really looking forward to it. I am also excited about the language courses offered by LBS. Having studied Spanish for the last two years, I would like to further develop my language skills and adapt them to the business environment.
What has been your greatest accomplishment in your career so far? My greatest accomplishment was when I produced a 7-week tour for a new award-winning musical during the pandemic. Creating live theater was a tricky and volatile time, requiring a lot of risk management (and in a very short time he needed expertise in COVID protocols!). I was responsible for everything from hiring creatives, negotiating with venues and raising over £160,000 in funding. As a result, the show has been nominated in the Best Play/Musical category at the Visionary Honors Awards 2022 for its social impact in culture, media and entertainment.
What have you read, seen, or heard recently that you would highly recommend to an aspiring MBA? Why? To avoid burnout, we recommend that you take the time to engage in non-MBA-related media. Applying to business school is a lot of work, so I think it’s important to make time to de-stress.My go-to is re-running office (However, we do not recommend taking business advice from Michael Scott!).
What made you want to pursue an MBA at this point and what do you want to do after graduation? Having worked in theater for the past few years, I want to step back and develop new skills and explore how I want to develop my professional life.My ambition is to continue working in the entertainment industry. But it’s focused on streaming services with one of the major content creation companies. My father was also an alumni of his (class of ’98) and was able to make the transition from chemical engineering to investment banking, so I could see firsthand how beneficial his MBA at LBS would be to individuals changing careers. I’ve seen
What advice would you give to potential applicants to help them get into the MBA program at London Business School? My advice is to be yourself in your application and not emphasize matching what is perceived to be the “perfect” MBA candidate. As a theater producer, I was apprehensive about applying to business school. I wasn’t sure if my unconventional background would be reflected in my application. Instead, I found that LBS not only welcomes people from diverse backgrounds, but actively encourages them to apply.
