According to a UCLA Latino Policy and Politics Institute study, Latinos are the youngest of Georgia’s major racial and ethnic groups, with a median age of 26, lower than the statewide median. Turns out I’m 10 years younger too.
Gigi Pedraza, Executive Director of Latinx Community Fund Georgia, said: “There’s a young population that’s already bicultural and very likely to be bilingual, and that’s also a huge voting block… Frankly, we could have decided the election.”
Pedraza was also joined by Dr. Roxana Chicas, an assistant professor at Emory University’s Nell Hodgson Woodruff School of Nursing, and Atlanta-based hip-hop artist Victor Mariachi.
