Commanders’ Ron Rivera says ‘not worried’ about Carson Wentz, QB ‘gets back on his feet’ after bad game with Eagles

Washington Commanders quarterback Carson Wentz was far from his best performance on Sunday. -8 loss.

Still, head coach Ron Rivera isn’t worried about Wentz’s play coming into the team’s Week 4 matchup against the Dallas Cowboys.

“I’m not worried about Carson,” Rivera told NBC Sports Washington. “Carson will bounce back. He’s a very resilient young man. I accepted… and I disagree with him. We are all to blame, myself included.

Still, Rivera acknowledged that commanders must get back on their feet quickly.

“But there’s a sense of urgency. There’s a ‘must do’, ‘we have to get out and do it’ type of mentality. It was the same last week. We wanted that. We wanted that every week. I’m going to do as I please, and sometimes things don’t go my way.”

The Commanders are currently 1-2, losing to the Eagles and Detroit Lions in Week 1 and winning against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Wentz threw for 337 yards, 3 touchdowns, 1 interception, 275 yards, 1 touchdown, 1 interception against the Lions. Victory over the Jags.

Wentz has been sacked 15 times in three weeks, alongside Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow in the NFL.
