Third-party logistics provider Echo Global Logistics has agreed to acquire the managed logistics solutions business of transportation and IT consultancy TransImpact for an undisclosed sum, TransImpact said late Tuesday.
According to TransImpact, the deal is expected to close by the end of the year.
TransImpact said the sale will allow it to focus on parcel consulting and negotiation operations, as well as business intelligence and demand planning services.
Founded in 2008 and based in Emerald Isle, North Carolina, TransImpact’s roots are in parcel consulting. Assist parcel shippers in analyzing shipping charges and negotiating contracts.
Chicago-based Echo is pushing the managed logistics space because it sees huge potential in it, according to people familiar with Echo’s business.
Echo did not respond to an emailed request for comment on Tuesday.
Echo was acquired by private equity firm The Jordan Co. for $1.3 billion in late 2021.
