Hudson West Folk Festival Coming October 15th

(Jersey City, NJ) — Located in the historic downtown area, Jersey City is 3 blocks from the Exchange Place PATH Station and just 2 stops from Manhattan. Hudson West Folk Festival It will take place on Saturday, October 15th from noon to 10pm at the new Nimbus Arts Center. The festival includes performances by nationally renowned artists and acclaimed local acts. The line-up includes Ebony Hillbillies, Leslie Mendelsohn, J Pope and the Hinow, Jamie Harris, Cole Quest and the City Pickers, Ari Hest, Ukraine Village Voice and KJ Denhart.

The Hudson West Folk Festival is a nonprofit that brings together several longtime music presenters based in Manhattan and Jersey City to showcase their favorite performers. A Festival of Diverse Approaches – The musicians selected are deliberately eclectic, covering a wide range of music ranging from Americana, contemporary singer-songwriters, hip-hop/funk/soul, bluegrass and jazz.

The Hudson West Folk Festival is a rain or shine indoor event featuring ongoing music, free music workshops, bars and ethnic food. Workshops will also teach improvised singing, how to develop your own musical style, and even Ukrainian folk songs.

Great food and drink with the spotlight on refugees. The Hudson West Folk Festival is proud to partner with Welcome Home Jersey City to bring in refugee chefs to serve mouthwatering ethnic cuisine from Afghanistan and Pakistan.
