Absentee Ballots Now Available for November Midterm Elections | Mississippi Politics & News


To vote in the November election, Mississippians must register to vote by October 10, 2022.

Absentee ballots for the November General and Special Elections on November 8, 2022 can now be cast in person or by mail through the Mississippi County Circuit Office.

The Mississippi Secretary of State’s office has created a step-by-step absentee guide to verify eligibility or contact your local circuit clerk.

The Office of the Secretary of State said, “If eligible, ballots will be provided at the request of the circuit office.” Saturday, October 29, 2022 and Saturday, November 5, 2022 from 8:00 a.m. to noon.”

Important Election Days:

  • September 9 – Absentee ballot applications will be available at the county circuit office. September 24 – Absentee ballots are available at the county circuit office.
  • October 29 – County Circuit Clark offices will be open for in-person absentee ballots until noon.
  • November 5 – Deadline for in-person absentee ballots. The county circuit office is open until noon for in-person absentee ballots.
  • November 8 – Day of general elections and regular special elections.Voting from 7am to 7pm
  • November 8 – Absentee ballots by mail must be validly postmarked on or before this date. November 15 – Absentee-by-mail ballots postmarked on or before November 8, 2022 must be received by the county circuit clerk.
  • November 18 – Absentee ballots begin for the runoff.
  • November 19 – County Circuit Clark offices will be open for in-person absentee ballots until noon.
  • November 26 – Last day to vote absentees in person at the Circuit Clerk’s Office, open from 8:00 a.m. to noon.
  • November 29 General election run-off vote and regular by-election held.
  • November 29 – Mailed absentee ballots must be postmarked by this date.
  • December 6 – Mailed absentee ballots must be picked up by the circuit clerk.
