STUD: WR Jordan Whittington
Syndication: Lubbock Avalanche Journal
It felt like the only time Texas’ offense got into a rhythm was when Jordan Whittington got the ball. He made multiple great plays to build a first-half lead, but Steve Sarkisian walked away from the seniors late in the game.

Pete Kwiatkowski’s defensively poor approach was largely uncoordinated throughout the ballgame. Texas Tech had a midfield feast all game long against this Texas defense. Donovan Smith was always sitting in the pocket while Texas’ pass rush failed to pressure Tech’s quarterback.
STUD: DB Jade Baron
Michael C. Johnson – USA TODAY Sports
One of the few bright spots on the Texas defense was defensive back Jahdae Barron. He picked up 9 tackles and 2 tackles for the losing effort. Another good game from Big 12 Defensive Player of the Week.

The Texas offense halted after going up 31-17 in the third quarter. Always playing behind the stick on early downs, a struggling offensive line, and the absence of Xavier Worthy all hampered Texas’ late game.
DUD: Offensive Line
Michael C. Johnson – USA TODAY Sports
The young Texas offensive line did poorly against the experienced Texas Tech front. Pushing in the run game continues to be a problem for this group. Kyle Flood’s squad is facing some growing pains after an impressive performance against Alabama.
