LIC’s tee-off time is approaching!

A new indoor golf and entertainment facility will open on Jackson Avenue later this year.

Combining a golf simulator and bar area, Five Iron Golf will open in late October or early November in the Prime Building, an 11-story, 71-unit new development at 22-43 Jackson Avenue.

The company will move into a 7,400-square-foot space on the ground floor of a mixed-use building that also houses Trader Joe’s. Taiwanese tapioca tea shop “I’Milky” will also open in the same building next month.

The new indoor golf facility will be Five Iron Golf’s first location in Queens and its fifth location in New York City. The company has his four locations in Manhattan.

Five Iron Golf was founded in the Flatiron District in 2017 and has grown rapidly over the past five years with locations across the United States. The company has facilities in cities such as Chicago, Baltimore, Las Vegas, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh and Seattle.

Five Iron Golf’s main mission is to make golf more convenient and accessible. The entertainment element of the business aims to make the game more enjoyable for casual players.

For example, the Long Island facility has seven state-of-the-art golf simulators for players of all skill levels.

The 16-foot-wide golf simulator consists of a small artificial turf “bay” area that allows players to hit the ball with a golf club against a large screen. Various cameras and sensors then generate how far the ball travels, and the screen shows the ball’s flight path on the golf course. Each bay area also has seating for six.

Five Iron Golf spokesperson Katie Stotts said users will have 93 different golf courses to choose from, each offering a full 18-hole round.

Stotts says simulators are a great way for serious golfers to improve their skills without spending hours on the course. We also have an in-house professional golfer who offers private lessons to our customers.

There will also be league tournaments where players can play against each other, Stotts said.

Customers can book time slots in 30 minute increments and pay per session. Membership options are also available.

Five Iron Golf provides golf clubs, but players are free to use their own. Patch was the first to report about the opening.

Stotts said the facility is family-friendly and can host group sessions and special events. It can also be configured. Games other than golf are also played in the simulator, such as kicking his goal on the field.

“There are so many great options available for people of all ages,” Stotts said.

The facility also has a bar area where players can hang out and socialize after sessions, Stotts said. The bar he has 12 seats and multiple TVs.

The bar will serve cocktails and beer as well as bar food, she said.

Five Iron Golf is open Monday through Friday from 6 AM to 11 PM, Saturday from 7 AM to midnight, and Sunday from 7 AM to 11 PM.
