Chicago — During the COVID-19 Pandemic, lieutenant general Mark Hartling, DBA, US Army (retired), Medical workers said they had to navigate a crisis comparable to that experienced during the fighting.
Hertling, who has been in healthcare leadership for the past eight years, has presented at every Women in Medicine Summit since 2020.
“For the past three years, the medical community has been hampered by what is happening in the pandemic. It’s been amazing the way you’ve done your best and saved the country,” Herdling told Helio. “Honestly, it was amazing.”
Hertling explained how to apply leadership during a crisis and how to change your approach to suit the situation. He also stressed the importance of “reflecting on what you have done more efficiently and effectively and applying them to your life, your organization and your team.”
As a final point, Hertling described the crises healthcare providers may face in the future and how to prepare for them.
“What crisis will the healthcare industry face?” he said. “Government regulations, climate change, another pandemic, diversity in health [are] Doctors, administrators and nurses will find an alternative to the pandemic. That requires being a great leader, thinking about the future, and actually adapting and adapting your organization to handle the crisis. ”
