

st. GEORGIA, Utah, Sept. 17, 2022 (Gephardt Daily) — A 23-year-old man drove his SUV to Washington on Friday after he allegedly hit a pedestrian and fled the scene before colliding with two cars. was imprisoned in count prison. A few blocks away.

“She appears to have suffered serious injuries and was taken to hospital by medical staff,” said a statement provided by St. George Police Department officials.
“At an initial evaluation at the hospital, doctors said the victim had to have multiple stitches to his head and suffered multiple lacerations.”

Johnson was charged with:
- Crash landing for serious injury, 3rd degree felony
- DUI is a third degree felony
- 2 counts of driving under the influence of alcohol/drugs, class A misdemeanor
- Aggressive driving, class B misdemeanor
- Fraudulent purchase by subject, class B misdemeanor
The suspect performed poorly on a field sobriety test, the arresting officer wrote in a report.
“During the nine-step walking and turning test and the one-leg standing test, Chord claimed that his tailbone was sore that he was unable to perform these tests.”
A preliminary breath test showed a “breath alcohol concentration of 0.320, which is more than six times the Utah legal limit,” a police statement said.

A records check determined that he had been sentenced to 36 months of probation on September 15, exactly one month before the incident.

Johnson was taken to a local hospital for medical clearance, a police statement said.
“While in the hospital I was able to observe a stranded pedestrian. She was still very far from it and remembered nothing from the incident. I had a large mark on her forehead. The right side of her face was purple and red and swollen, she had a rash on her hands, arms and left shoulder.
“The victims in this case are very much evidence of visible scarring and possible internal trauma, at least for the rest of their lives.”
Officers also said Johnson knew he hit the pedestrian, but didn’t ask about the woman’s condition.
“Instead, he only asked about how long he was in prison and complained that his tailbone hurt.”
Johnson was ordered to be held without bail at the Purgatory Correctional Facility.
